Bob Odenkirk and David Cross Are Doing a Sketch Together on ‘Comedy Bang Bang’

There’s going to be a little Mr. Show reunion on TV this summer. Scott Aukerman, a former Mr. Show writer, revealed to EW this week that Bob Odenkirk and David Cross will be performing a sketch together on the new season of his IFC show, Comedy Bang Bang. There’s no word on what the sketch entails or when the episode airs, but the new season of Comedy Bang Bang is set to premiere Friday, July 12th. This will be the duo’s first time doing sketch comedy together on TV since a 2008 appearance on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!

In addition to the Comedy Bang Bang appearance, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are also releasing a book together this fall. Called  Hollywood Said No!, it’s a collection of rejected film scripts they wrote together along with original material, and they’ll be going on a mini-book/standup tour to promote it. Odenkirk and Cross will also be performing new material under the name “The Mr. Show Experience” at Tenacious D’s massive comedy concert Festival Supreme in October, so this will be a year full of Bob and David doing stuff together again.

UPDATE 6/21: IFC tells Splitsider that the Odenkirk/Cross episode of Comedy Bang Bang   airs Friday, August 2nd, at 10pm. The segment involves Bob Odenkirk playing a Deputy Marshall who unexpectedly interrupts host Scott Aukerman’s interview with David Cross. Will Forte, Tim Meadows, and “Weird Al” Yankovic are also appearing in the episode, as if the Bob and David appearance isn’t exciting enough.
