Longtime Conan writer/performer Brian McCann has been hired as a writer/producer on FX’s Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, FX announce today. McCann joked in a statement, “I couldn’t be more excited to round out the diverse and talented staff at Totally Biased by supplying the rare ‘Irish White guy’ voice so often ignored in late night.” He’s coming to Totally Biased just ahead of the show’s expansion to five nights a week this fall when it moves to FX’s new all-comedy channel FXX. McCann worked for Conan O’Brien for 17 years before departing last fall to become the head writer for the first season of MTV’s Nikki and Sara Live. On Conan, he played memorable characters like Preparation H Raymond, the FedEx Pope, and Mick Ferguson, The Guy Who’s Awfully Proud of His Bulletproof Legs. Hopefully, his move to Totally Biased will see more characters with bulletproof legs popping up on that show.
