It had been rumored, but now Deadline confirms that John C. Reilly has been added to the cast of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which already includes Benicio Del Toro, Glenn Close, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Michael Rooker. Reilly will play Ronan the Accuser, a member of the Kree alien race and the leader of the Accuser Corps, which is a group of military governors and jurists. He’s super strong and fast, can sometimes turn invisible, and wields this really cool hammer thing called the “universal weapon.” Also, in some stories, he is the son of Thanos, the major Marvel villain who we saw at the very end of The Avengers and we have speculated might be whom Benicio Del Toro is playing.
