The legendary songwriter and producer, who is married to Nashville creator Callie Khouri, will not be overseeing the show’s music in season two. “His slate of other film, television and recording projects would have made it impossible for him to return for a second season,” said a statement, which is a polite way of saying that it takes too much time to find a new Civil Wars–esque song every damn week. Or maybe he is still mad about the finale.
