Ken Marino, star of The State, Childrens Hospital, Party Down and tons of other great things, is coming to Fox. The network just bought an untitled single-camera comedy written by Marino and his wife/writing partner Erica Oyama and set to star Marino, Deadline reports. Will Gluck (Easy A, the upcoming Michael J. Fox Show) is onboard as a producer. Marino and Oyama are a busy writing duo these days. In addition writing on Adult Swim’s Childrens Hospital together, they’re also scripting a feature called True Freshman, adapting the book Go the Fuck to Sleep into a movie, and are on hiatus from their Emmy-nominated Yahoo web series Burning Love.
Marino and Oyama’s untitled Fox project is based on the lives of Sam Calagione, who founded Dogfish Head Brewery, and his wife and business partner, Mariah. The producers tell Deadline that the Cagliones are “a couple who support each other, inspire each other, are madly in love, drive each other crazy, build a company from the ground up and blend their employees and children into one big happy family.” This may be end up being the most well-adjusted character Ken Marino has ever played.
