Lifetime has green-lit a backdoor pilot from tear-jerking romance overlord Nicholas Sparks, the network announced. Deliverance Creek is set at the end of the Civil War and focuses on a woman trying to defend her family’s land only to butt heads with her town’s corrupt bank, which forces her to become an outlaw. (We’re picturing a sweaty, dirty — yet very beautiful! — woman cocking an unwieldy revolver and insisting an intruder get off her property. Just a guess.) Lifetime will air it as a two-hour TV movie that will maybe turn into a series, which worked great for The Client List, though one assumes there will be fewer professional hand jobs on Deliverance Creek.
