This Week in Comedy: John Oliver’s Final ‘Daily Show’ as Host and Tina Fey’s New TV Projects

-John Oliver hosted his final Daily Show (for now). In honor of this, we listed our favorite moments from the Brit’s time as interim-host. Jon Stewart returns with the show’s next new episode on September 3rd.

-Tina Fey has two new shows in the works. One is a workplace comedy for NBC. The other is a comedy set at an all-womens college that has just begun accepting men for the first time, which NBC and Fox are currently fighting over.

-Following the announcement of Seth Rogen as roastmaster, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Nick Kroll, Sarah Silverman, and more are confirmed for the roast of James Franco.

-We ranked the greatest late night guests of all time, including Bill Murray, Amy Sedaris, and, of course, Norm Macdonald.

-The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival announced its 2013 lineup, which includes Kristen Schaal, Jim Gaffigan, and Wyatt Cenac, among others.

-IFC’s new sketch show, The Birthday Boys, premieres October 18th and Bob Odenkirk will appear in every episode.

-We defended Jay Leno, unearthed some mid-90’s interviews with Louis C.K. and Jon Stewart, and analyzed Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

-A fictional autobiography of Ron Burgundy comes out November 19th.
