Uruguay’s Fede Alvarez helmed his first feature with the Evil Dead remake, an endeavor characterized principally by its astounding gore levels. Now Alvarez is in talks to direct a new take on Dante’s Inferno over at Universal. It’s based on the centuries-old epic poem, but its jumping-off point is a recent video-game adaptation. So there should be enough gore to decorate every circle of Hell.
