IFC Orders a Garfunkel and Oates TV Show, Coming in 2014

IFC announced this morning that they’ve ordered a new TV show from musical comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates. Made up of comedians Riki Lindhome (Garfunkel) and Kate Micucci (Oates), Garfunkel and Oates began as a live act in 2007 and the duo’s web videos have become viral successes. The show, also called Garfunkel and Oates, will debut sometime in 2014 and the first season will consist of 10 episodes. Here’s the plot description:

Garfunkel and Oates will spotlight the personal and professional lives of the duo whose career choices – singing satirical and sometimes dirty songs – leaves them with little in common with their peers, and no one but each other to turn to for support and understanding.

A pilot for the show was ordered in the spring, but the series pickup was announced today. Garfunkel and Oates will be produced by Childrens Hospital co-creator Jonathan Stern’s production company Abominable, which also makes Childrens, NTSF:SD:SUV, Burning Love, and more.
