It appears funniness is genetic, as Amy Poehler’s brother, Greg Poehler, has sold the domestic rights to his Swedish comedy series, Welcome to Sweden, to NBC. The show, which features a mixed Swedish and American (namely, Illeana Douglas and Patrick Duffy) cast and cameos from Amy Poehler (who also executive produces), Will Ferrell, and Aubrey Plaza, was Sweden’s TV4’s first-ever English-language series. The semi-autobiographical show stars Greg as Bruce, a New York accountant who moves to Sweden after falling in love with a Swedish girl, Emma (Josephine Bornebusch). This Emma must really be something, because if Amy Poehler were our sister, we’d want to live as close to her as possible.
