Fox Buys a Comedy from Kelly Oxford

Fox is developing a new show for the 2014-15 TV season from comedy writer Kelly Oxford. Deadline reports that the network bought an untitled comedy project written by Oxford that follows a 30-year-old single mom running the recreation department at a senior center. The proposed show is based on Oxford’s real experiences.

Oxford previously sold a show to CBS in 2011 and one to NBC last season. She got her start from her highly popular Twitter account and blog before jumping to full-time comedy writing. In addition to the Fox show, she’s currently working on a collection of essays called I Can’t Believe I Forgot To Tell You This, a follow-up to her first book, Everything Is Perfect When You’re A Liar, and a feature screenplay called Son of a Bitch that’s in development.
