Happy Endings’ Eliza Coupe will star in a new sitcom for USA, the network announced today. Benched, created and written by Michaela Watkins (currently killing it on Trophy Wife) and Damon Jones, is about a high-end corporate lawyer who has a public meltdown after she’s passed over for a promotion and winds up working as a public defender. Party Down’s John Enbom will serve as showrunner, and the rest of us here in the peanut gallery will serve as the cautiously hopeful public, because this sounds promising.
