It was announced last year that 20th Century Fox is making a new CGI 3D movie based on Charles Schulz’s comic strip Peanuts, and today, Deadline reports that Bridesmaids director and Freaks and Geeks creator Paul Feig is overseeing and producing the film.
A November 6, 2015, release date has been set for the film, which will be directed by Steve Martino (Horton Hears A Who!, Ice Age: Continental Drift) and the script was written by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano. Craig and Bryan are Charles Schulz’s son and grandson, respectively. “Growing up, Peanuts was my Star Wars,” said Feig. “Charles Schulz’s characters influenced everything in my career, especially Freaks And Geeks. I’m thrilled I finally get to be pals with Charlie Brown and Snoopy.”
