Watch the Trailer for Glee’s Cory Monteith Tribute Episode

It’s been hard to imagine how Glee could tactfully memorialize Cory Monteith just months after his death, and now we have some idea of how the show will attempt to do that. The trailer for next week’s episode pairs Lea Michele’s cover of “Make You Feel My Love” with scenes of the New Directions grieving – and particularly heartbreaking shots of Kurt and Rachel. “Almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance, because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it. I’ve never seen a crew where you can’t continue shooting because they left the room sobbing,” co-creator Ryan Murphy said on Thursday. “It was very hard, and I struggled even working on it, because you’re seeing what they felt about not just Finn, but Cory. So I think it’s amazing performances across the board, and everybody went into it with a lot of love.” Previously, Murphy said they would do the episode in an “upbeat way,” so the cast wouldn’t “have to re-create feelings of grief,” but it looks like that idea might have been abandoned.
