Starz is developing an hour-long Reagan-era porn drama from executive producer Owen Wilson, the network announced today. It’s basically a prestige-drama Mad Libs at this point, folks! Take a historical time period, a scandalous industry, throw in a marquee name, and bam — you’ve got yourself a cable show. WonderWorld is about two by-the-book FBI agents who infiltrate the Mob-controlled pornography industry at enormous personal cost. Wilson will be an executive producer, not an actor, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent co-creator Rene Balcer will serve as showrunner. Maybe they can share wigs and sweaters with The Americans.
