Blue Is the Warmest Color director Abdellatif Kechiche and star Lea Seydouz have made no secret of their mutual hatred; she regularly trashes his working style in interviews, and he has repeatedly undermined her acting ability. Now, since it is Open Letter Season, Kechiche has published a long screed against both critics and Seydoux, and it is a doozy. He has some Le Monde conspiracy theories to share, and then, at one point, he seems to threaten legal action against Seydoux for “perverse fraud and manipulation.” The money line: “It is for her to explain in court.” It sounds more dramatic in French.
