Back to the Future costars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd will be appearing together on screen again next year. Fox revealed via Twitter that Lloyd is guest starring in an episode of his new NBC sitcom, The Michael J. Fox Show, that is shooting next week. No further details about the plot or Lloyd’s character are known at this time, but the episode is expected to air sometime in spring of 2014.
Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox last appeared on screen together when Lloyd guest starred on Fox’s previous sitcom, ABC’s Spin City in 1999. The episode, called “Back to the Future IV - Judgment Day,” featured Lloyd as Fox’s character’s political mentor from the past and it obviously featured a ton of jokey references to the Back to the Future series.
