CC: Studios, the digital arm of Comedy Central, is developing six new series that will be distributed across all of the networks platforms, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It also renewed three series, giving seconds seasons to Bro-Dependent, This Is Not Happening and The Walsh Brothers’ Great & Secret Comedy Show. The new series included an interview series with Kurt Braunohler, and a series from UCB’s Jon Gabrus and Justin Tyler that will star 30 Rock’s Kevin “Dot Com” Brown.
CC: Studios was launched in January to create original digital content as well as “behind-the-scenes” series of series like The Half Hour and Inside Amy Schumer. Below, a look at at all the new series going up on CC: Studios.
Biatches - The working title for an animated show show written by and starring Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov “about bad girls kicked out of middle school and forced to attend the special education students program, which isn’t going to stop them from wreaking their raunchy brand of havoc.”
Idiotsitter - Created by and starring Charlotte Newhouse and Jillian Bell, the show follows “a straight-and-narrow young woman who is hired to babysit a mega-rich woman child who has been left alone in her daddy’s mansion under house arrest.”
The Midnight Beast - British hip-hop comedy group The Midnight Beast, who made a name for themselves making YouTube parody videos, will be presumably be producing musical comedy for the studio, though details are scarce. The Midnight Beast is made up of Ashley Horne, Dru Wakely and Stefan Abingdon.
Pixelheads - GameTrailers is producing an animated sketch series about video games that will feature segments from Steve Agee, Rich Fulcher, Jordan Morris, Ron Funches, Brent Morin, Peter Giles, Andrew Bachelor, H. Michael Croner and Matt Cook.
Strong Island - UCB’s Jon Gabrus and Justin Tyler will create and star in this show about “two brothers living at home with their mom on Long Island.” This is part of a multi-platform deal the duo signed with Comedy Central that includes their half-hour sitcom Upstate, about “two guys who return to the summer town of their youth and live like they are sixteen again. Strong Island will also include Artemis Pebdani for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Kevin “Dot Com” Brown from 30 Rock.
Untitled Kurt Braunohler - Kurt Braunohler is set to have “a multiformat interview show where each guest is interviewed gonzo-style in unexpected locations.”
