Jason Ritter is heading back to Parenthood for some insane reason. According to TVLine, Ritter will appear on the season’s nineteenth episode, which doesn’t air until April, and so far he’s only contracted for that one installment. Ritter’s Mr. Cyr has come and gone a few times thanks to Ritter getting cast on other shows and then those other shows getting canceled, but as darling and scruffy as the character is, the last thing Parenthood needs is another go-round for him and Sarah. The show already has one of Sarah’s exes — Ray Romano’s Hank — sticking around for very little reason! Must we do this again? If Mr. Cyr only bumps into Amber, though, and encourages her to go to college (he was her high school teacher, after all), that would be fine.
