The five living members of Monty Python confirmed their plans to reunite for a stage show this morning. Eric Idle, Michael Palin, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones said they’ll be performing at London’s O2 Arena on July 1, 2014, saying the show will include a mix of greatest hits and new material “with a modern, topical, Pythonesque twist.” The performance will be filmed for DVD release. Tickets go on sale November 25, with prices ranging from £26.50 ($42.73) to £95 ($153).
“People do really want to see the old hits, but we don’t want to do them in a predictable way,” said Cleese. “The main danger we have is that the audience know the scripts better than we do.”
