Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, is keeping busy with a ton of movie projects. His latest is an untitled comedy written by Melissa Stack, who wrote the upcoming Cameron Diaz/Leslie Mann movie The Other Woman, Deadline reports. Stack based the script off an original idea from Feig. He will produce the film and is considering it as a potential directing project.. The plot of the potential film is currently being kept under wraps, but it is said to be “a vehicle for a group of ethnically diverse comic actresses.” Feig said, “I’m always looking for an excuse to gather a bunch of funny women together, and Melissa’s amazing take on this idea really made me laugh.”
Up next, Feig is directing Susan Cooper, a secret agent comedy he wrote starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, and Rose Byrne that’s slated for a summer 2015 release. Susan Cooper will be his next movie, but Feig is also developing a mother-daughter action-comedy from The Heat writer Katie Dippold, a spinoff of The Heat starring Jamie Denbo and Jessica Chaffin, a sequel to The Heat, and a CGI 3D Peanuts movie, one of which or the Melissa Stack project will become his next directing vehicle after he wraps up Susan Cooper.
