Even if you’re not in the mood for swords and sandals now or on March 7, the new 300: Rise of an Empire trailer offers something of a visual time capsule for the film industry, capturing where we’re at with a variety of action technologies: slow-motion blood spray trajectories, molten god-king CGI, stunts that involve leaping onto a boat, etc. Turns out, we’re making excellent progress in all sectors.
