Soon after the two singers decided to put all of the diva drama behind them and perform together on The Voice’s season finale, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga’s version of “Do What U Want” got an official release at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Yes, it was as important as the ball dropping. Studio versions from The Voice do appear on iTunes, but no doubt this particular one got an extra push owing to the duo’s star power — and thanks to the song’s original featured guest, R. Kelly, being the recent subject of some not-so-flattering truths. Just in case you thought the timing here was at all a coincidence.
