As Wicked has proven, there’s a value in telling classic stories from the point of view of iconic villains. With that, we have Maleficent, Disney’s upcoming live-action (with a lot of CGI) movie about the Sleeping Beauty witch, Maleficent. In the film, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) starts off good, living in an idyllic forest kingdom. Then a man-king tries to conquer said forest, causing Maleficent to curse his beautiful daughter, Aurora (Elle Fanning). Eventually, it appears, her and Aurora become pals and the short blonde teaches the witch how to be popular through song. This film is set for a May 30 release.
