Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are Making a Movie About the ’90s Nintendo/Sega Battle

Just when you thought that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were too busy for another project, Collider reports that the duo has been brought on to write and direct a movie adaptation for Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation, a behind-the-scenes oral history book by Blake Harris that comes out this August. Sony and The Social Network’s Scott Rudin have acquired movie rights for the book, and Harris is signed on to executive produce the movie.

Console Wars sounds like an interesting read for video gamers and ‘90s kids alike. According to Booktrade.info, “Blake Harris draws on hundreds of interviews to present the first full account of this titanic corporate battle, which transformed computer games into a global industry that last year recorded sales of $50 billion (surpassing the film and music businesses combined).” Rogen and Goldberg have a bunch of projects lined up right now including a film with James Franco, a Christmas movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, an R-rated animated sausage movie, and a TV adaptation of the comic Preacher for AMC, but they definitely seem like the type of guys who are willing to carve out some time for anything Nintendo related.
