Variety reports that Jai Courtney has signed on to play Kyle Reese in the new Terminator reboot. Reese had a big role in the first Terminator, as the soldier from the human resistance who goes back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor from the Terminator. Not to spoil anything, but he impregnates Sarah, making him John Connor’s dad, and gets killed. In Terminator Salvation, we meet a younger Reese, when he first meets resistance leader John Connor, not knowing he will be his father through time travel. Courtney is joining a cast that includes Arnold back as Mr. Terminator, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, and Jason Clarke as John Connor. Considering that Clarke is older than the actors playing his parents, you know some time travel will be going down. Maybe he’ll be going back in time to explain why the robots made a Terminator that looks like an old European dude.
