NBC Announces Summer Premieres for New Sitcoms ‘Welcome to Sweden’, ‘Working the Engels’, and ‘Undateable’

Summer is traditionally not the best time of year for broadcast networks to launch new scripted shows, but NBC is doing so anyway. The Peacock Network announced today that three of its new sitcoms will be debuting this summer. Here are their premiere dates:

  • Thurs., May 29th at 9pm: Undateable, a comedy about a guy trying to turn a group of losers nicknamed “The Undateables” into romantically successful people. Created by Adam Sztykiel (Due Date), produced by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town), and starring Chris D’Elia (Whitney) and standups Ron Funches and Brent Morin.
  • Thurs., July 10th at 9pm: Welcome to Sweden, an English-language Swedish comedy that NBC acquired. Produced by Amy Poehler, Welcome to Sweden was created by and stars her brother Greg as an American who falls in love with a Swedish woman and moves with her to her home country. The show features cameos from Amy Poehler, Will Ferrell, Aubrey Plaza, and Gene Simmons.
  • Thurs., July 10th at 9:30pm: Working the Engels, a co-production between NBC and a Canadian broadcaster that stars SCTV alum Andrea Martin as a woman who, with the help of her kids, tries to keep her recently-deceased husband’s law firm afloat to make ends meet. Martin Short and Eugene Levy are set to guest star.
