If you were ever wondering what it would be like if New Girl got the “Garfield Minus Garfield” treatment, may we present you Let’s Be Cops. It stars Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. as two friends who dress up as cops for a costume party (that’s actually a masquerade party) and decide to continue pretending to be cops. Seriously, tell us that that doesn’t sound like a New Girl B-story. Like Nick and Coach do it to prove to Winston how easy it is to be a cop, while Jess gets tricked into driving Schmidt to the airport, only to get stuck in traffic, forcing them to address Jess’s lingering resentment over how he treated Cece. The film comes out on August 13. Winston really is going to be jealous.
