See Philip Seymour Hoffman in John Slattery’s God’s Pocket

A few days ago we saw Philip Seymour Hoffman in the trailer for A Most Wanted Man, and today we got a peek at another one of the great actor’s final films. Judging from the trailer, God’s Pocket, John Slattery’s full-length directorial debut, will have a Coen Brothers-esque vibe. Hoffman plays Mickey, a rough-edged fellow living in the blue-collar Philly neighborhood of God’s Pocket, who finds himself in trouble after his stepson dies in a suspicious accident. The film also features John Turturro, Richard Jenkins, and Christina Hendricks, Slattery’s Mad Men co-star. God’s Pocket premiered at Sundance earlier this year and will open in limited release May 9th.
