Will Ferrell to Star in Jewel Heist Comedy ‘The Yank’

Will Ferrell is attached to star in a new comedy called The Yank, Deadline reports. The project was just sold as a pitch, meaning that it has yet to be written and is in the very early stages of being a thing, but it’ll be written by Steve Pink, director of Hot Tub Time Machine and the recent About Last Night remake, and writing partner Jeff Morris. In The Yank, Ferrell, who is producing via his company Gary Sanchez, will play an American insurance courier who gets dragged into a conspiracy to steal the Crown Jewels in London.

Ferrell is currently filming Get Hard, a  comedy starring him as a bank manager convicted of a major crime with Kevin Hart playing a street smart guy he hires to prep him to go to prison. After that, he’s attached to Border Guards, a comedy that would reteam him with John C. Reilly, and a drama about the 1973 “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match that would star him as athlete Bobby Riggs.
