Sources confirmed CBS’s pickups today, and the five dramas and two comedies joining the network are:
- NCIS: New Orleans, a spin-off starring Scott Bakula (and jazz, presumably).
- Madam Secretary, the Morgan Freeman–produced drama about a female secretary of state, played by Téa Leoni. (Script is by Homeland writer Barbara Hall.)
- Stalker, a Kevin Williamson cop show about — you guessed it! — stalker crimes. Dylan McDermott will star in this one.
- The Odd Couple reboot, starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon.
- Scorpion, in which Katharine McPhee plays friend and “translator” to a group of weird genius people.
- The McCarthys, a multi-camera comedy that went through the pilot process last year but was rejected. It’s about a family in Boston; Joey McIntyre plays one of the adult sons.
- Battle Creek, the Vince Gilligan show you can’t wait for.
Congratulations to everyone who got a job today. CBS still has some other shows in contention, but there’s no word on their fates just yet. (We’re looking at you, How I Met Your Dad.)
