CBS announced at their upfront presentation today that their long-running sitcom Two and a Half Men will air its twelfth and final season next year. Co-created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn, Two and a Half Men premiered on the network back in 2003 and has faced several road bumps between Charlie Sheen getting fired in 2011 and Angus T. Jones calling the show “filth” in a strange religious testimonial video in 2012 and officially announcing his departure from the show this year.
In other CBS upfront news, the network revealed its fall lineup and has now confirmed that it’s passed on the How I Met Your Mother spin-off starring Greta Gerwig. CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said she wanted to reshoot the pilot episode “in the best interest of the show,” which series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas reportedly didn’t want to do. In any case, it looks like HIMYD is now dead unless another network wants to pick it up.
