Fox confirmed today that Damon Wayans Jr. will return as a series regular on the fourth season of New Girl. After appearing in the pilot, Wayans, who played original loft-mate Coach, was forced to leave the show because of his role on the now canceled Happy Endings. He returned as a New Girl special guest star in season three, ultimately turning what was supposed to be a four-episode arc into a season-long guest spot — and now, it seems, a full-time gig. Maybe not the happy ending Wayans signed on for, but a happy ending nonetheless.
