Fans of awesome lady-centric comedies, take note: Bridesmaids screenwriting duo Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo are reteaming for a new film. Wiig and Mumolo will write, produce, and star in the now-untitled buddy comedy, which is also serving as Wiig’s directorial debut. The only plot details released so far are pretty sparse, with TriStar Productions saying simply that the pair will “play best friends who find themselves in over their heads and out of their depths.” In a statement today, the two women were similarly elusive, announcing: “We’re very excited to be writing … We will be going into a cave for months to finish. An actual cave. We found one that’s nice and big. We’re putting a couch in there.” So maybe “cave” and “depths” are clues, and the film is about a spelunking duo on a cave-diving mission gone awry? We would totally watch that.
