Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs star Tim Roth has been cast as segregationist Alabama Governor George Wallace in Selma, Ava DuVernay’s forthcoming Martin Luther King Jr. biopic, which Brad Pitt and Oprah Winfrey are co-producing. Selma centers on King’s 1965 voting-rights campaign and the iconic marches from Selma to Montgomery, and also stars Cuba Gooding Jr. as civil-rights attorney Fred Gray, Tom Wilkinson as President Lyndon Johnson and David Oyelowo as King. Here’s hoping it goes better than Roth’s last attempt at a historical biopic.
