This week, NBC is premiering two original summer comedies Working the Engels and Welcome to Sweden, co-productions with Canadian and Swedish broadcasters respectively. Working the Engels stars SCTV’s Andrea Martin as a widow who, with the help of her family, tries to keep her late husband’s law firm afloat, while Welcome to Sweden, from executive producer Amy Poehler, was created by and stars her brother Greg Poehler as an American guy who falls in love with a Swedish woman and moves to her home country with her. Also on TV this week, Comedy Bang! Bang! airs its summer finale, while Letterman, Fallon, Meyers, and Ferguson return from hiatus. Conan, Kimmel, and Comedy Central’s late night chunk remain on break.
