Last month, Yahoo announced that they’re bringing Community back from the dead, renewing the show for a sixth season, and they may be doing the same with another recently-canceled critically-acclaimed network sitcom. Deadline reports that Yahoo is in talks to resurrect the Fox sitcom Enlisted for another season on their streaming service.
The sitcom, which was created by Kevin Biegel (Cougar Town) and follows a trio of brothers serving at a Florida military base, debuted on Fox in January, airing 13 episodes and drawing high marks from critics before Fox pulled the plug on it. Enlisted suffered ratings problems, but those are probably mostly due to Fox scheduling it on Friday nights, an infamously difficult time for shows to attract viewers. The talks with Yahoo, which are the result of a “save our show” campaign by fans that targeted the streaming service, are “preliminary,” though, and may not result in the show Yahoo making a deal to produce more episodes of the show.
