Celebrity musicians Talib Kweli and John Legend have already come out to voice their support for the protesters in Ferguson, and now Chan Marshall, better known by her stage name, Cat Power, and synth-pop songstress Sky Ferreira are joining in. Cat Power announced via Instagram that she would do two free benefit concerts for the protestors in Ferguson on Sunday at the Firebird in St. Louis. She said she was raising money to “help get activists & local community protesters bail money & daily supplies for protestors” (it was written in all caps, but we toned it down a little for you). She had invited Ferreira, but she can’t go because she’s contractually obligated to perform elsewhere, so instead all the proceeds of her next show will go to the protestors as well. #Ferguson!
