News came out last month that Hank Azaria would be hosting a live Simpsons event at Hollywood Bowl in September, and now the mind behind “Marge vs. the Monorail” is also set to make an appearance. In a new interview with Buzzfeed, Conan O’Brien revealed that he has agreed to not only show up at the event but also do a live performance of “The Monorail Song” from his classic episode. From the interview:
Two days before I left to come to England my phone rang and it was The Simpsons. And they said that they were doing a live show at the Hollywood Bowl, and all the actors are going to do the voices, and, “Would you be a special guest star and sing ‘The Monorail Song’ with the Los Angeles Gay Men’s Choir?” And the answer there is “YES”, so I am going to do that I think in September.
“The Monorail Song” was originally performed by the late Phil Hartman, but O’Brien is certainly no stranger to grand live performances, so it looks like the live Simpsons event is certainly shaping up to be great.
