James Franco and Seth Rogen’s controversial film about assassinating Kim Jong-un has been pushed back by a month and a half, from October 10 to December 25, 2014. Releasing the movie on Christmas Day indicates that the studio is confident about the film’s prospects, although it faces off against a diverse crop of heavy-hitters including the MLK biopic Selma, the Disney musical Into the Woods, the comedy sequel Hot Tub Time Machine 2, the Angelina Jolie–directed war drama Unbroken, and the bear-related family movie Paddington. Still, it’s the only one of the bunch that has received direct condemnation from a world leader, so it has that going for it.
