If the bulk of this year’s VMAs felt like a prelude to Beyoncé, that’s because it was. At night’s end, she performed a 16-minute medley of all the songs from the album that she Beyoncé-d last December. It was the only section of the night that wasn’t broken up every 8 minutes by condom ads.
