Jermaine Fowler Is Developing and Starring in a New Comedy for ABC

Last week it was announced that both ABC and Fox were developing autobiographical comedies based on the lives of Johnny Knoxville and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo, and ABC has added yet another, this time from standup Jermaine Fowler. THR reports that the network has given a script commitment to an untitled project starring Fowler as “a college dropout who winds up living with his estranged grandmother, a former DC cop who provides the perfect mix of parenting, laughs and adventure that gets him off the couch and out into the world.” Fowler’s past television appearances include MTV2’s Guy Code and Comedy Underground with Dave Attell on Comedy Central, and he’s currently filming TruTV’s upcoming sketch show Friends of the People, on which he also serves as a writer and executive producer.
