Looks like Joey has beaten Dawson to the director’s chair: Katie Holmes will make her directorial debut with All We Had, an adaptation of the Annie Weatherwax novel about a penniless mother and daughter’s adventures in pre-crash America. (We haven’t read it, but it sounds like Waitress meets Anywhere But Here.) The script will be written by Josh Boone, who directed The Fault in Our Stars. So: There will probably be plenty of crying.
James Van Der Beek, meanwhile, is about to star in CSI: Cyber, coming to CBS this fall.
