NBC Is Developing a Live Sitcom About a Manhattan Hotel Staff

NBC is attempting to bring back the live sitcom. Deadline reports that the network is currently developing a “live hotel comedy” from actor/creator Chris Moynihan and Hazy Hills, the production company owned by Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner that’s behind shows like Hot in Cleveland, Grimm, and Hollywood Game Night. Titled Hospitality, the series follows the hospitality staff of a midtown Manhattan hotel and would be a weekly multi-cam comedy that’s completely live, including the commercials. 30 Rock is the most recent NBC sitcom to pull off the live episode format well, but Hospitality would be the first fully live sitcom on the network in some time, not counting the nearly 40-year rule of sketch show Saturday Night Live.
