FX has renewed Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story for a fifth season, the network announced today. Not much of a surprise — the show’s ridiculously popular — but one wonders if Jessica Lange will stick to her plan not to return, or if Murphy will find a way to woo her back. It would be sad to be sans Lange, no? She’s such an integral part of the show season to season, more so than Evan Peters or Francis Conroy or Sarah Paulson. Just make up your dream era and character, Jessica Lange, and we’re sure the AHS team will come up with some way to make it grotesque and horrific.
