NBC Is Developing a Workplace Romantic Comedy Inspired by Peter Pan

NBC is attempting a workplace comedy/romantic comedy/Peter Pan mashup. Deadline reports that the network has given a script commitment to a single-cam comedy called Wendy and Peter based off the J. M. Barrie characters (which is also getting a live musical treatment on the network set for December) from writer/actress Marisa Coughlan and Le Train Train, the production company of duo Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. The project is described as a workplace romantic comedy inspired by Peter Pan and Coughlan’s dating experiences “told from the point of view of Wendy, a woman who wants to find love with a real man, but finds herself falling for Peter, who refuses to fully embrace adulthood.” Aside from writing the script, Coughlan will also serve as an executive producer alongside Jones and McCormack, who previously sold another romantic comedy to NBC A to Z, which premieres on the network tonight.
