Comedy Central’s upcoming late night show The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore just hired its head writer. The network announced today that Robin Thede has joined the Minority Report staff as head writer following news that former Daily Show showrunner Rory Albanese will serve as executive producer. A graduate of Second City and iO, Thede recently served as head writer for The Queen Latifah Show and also wrote for Real Husbands of Hollywood and Chris Rock at the 2014 BET Awards, and she’s appeared on Hot in Cleveland, Key and Peele, and The Goodwin Games. Thede’s hiring is especially exciting considering that most of today’s late night writing staffs are white dude-dominated – which is thankfully a norm that Minority Report doesn’t intend to follow.
