Welcome to The Second City Archives, in which we post an exclusive clip each week of some of comedy’s biggest superstars performing early in their careers on the legendary Chicago stage. Second City has generously given us a glimpse into their extensive archive of live performances, and over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing some rare and retro comedy never before seen on the web.
Jack McBrayer is currently working on an upcoming Adult Swim show with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, but he’ll forever be known and loved as 30 Rock’s favorite NBC page Kenneth Ellen Parcell, the hardworking TV lover with strong roots in Stone Mountain, Georgia. There’s more than a hint of Kenneth – or at least some distant members of the Parcell clan – in this clip of McBrayer performing alongside Debra Downing at Second City’s 2000 ETC revue Better Late Than Nader, which included ensemble performers Andy Cobb, Martin Carcia, David Pompeii, and Abby Sher.
