What if you took pictures of all that gorgeous art at Art Basel Miami Beach and, instead of just Instagramming it like everyone else, you used the app LINE Camera — which puts graphical “stickers” on your photos — to make the pieces all appear to be a bit, you know, flatulent? This may or may not count as commentary on the art market, and it may or may not even be that funny, but it made me laugh. I met the woman who runs this account (@fartbasel, obviously) late Saturday night at the Standard Hotel in Miami (it was a late-Basel power night: The entire staff of ArtForum was dining nearby, along with jewelry designer and socialite Waris “Waris” Ahluwalia). She asked that her (f)art project remain anonymous.
