Either Taylor Swift’s Twitter account just got hacked, or she’s suddenly become a big fan of a random internet hacking squad. Shortly after noon on Tuesday, Swift’s official account began tweeting shout-outs to accounts linked to Lizard Squad, a group of hackers who claimed responsibility for shutting down North Korea’s internet in December. The hack didn’t last forever, and it may have gone down in flames: Someone on Swift’s team deleted the offending tweets shortly thereafter. They don’t call her Taylor Slow.
Both InfoSec Taylor Swift and Real Taylor Swift have weighed in on the hack, the latter writing on Tumblr:
My Twitter got hacked but don’t worry, Twitter is deleting the hacker tweets and locking my account until they can figure out how this happened and get me new passwords.
